Temnozor discography

Temnozor es una banda de folk NSBM de Rusia, formeda en Obninsk en 1996. Su nombre es tomado de una palabra arcaica rusa y siginifica "El espíritu del amanecer".

Rusia es un país que no para de regalarnos excelentes bandas de Black y Doom, pero si algo que hacen especialmente bien los grupos eslavos es tocar Pagan Metal, y como muestra he aquí uno de los mejores álbumes de Pagan-Folk que existen.
Muchos grupos consisten en integrar instrumentación Folk a una base Black Metal, pero Temnozor van más allá; tras unos inicios muy blackers a la manera que comentaba, fusionaron esos elementos dando lugar un estilo más homogéneo, el que es llamado Pagan Metal. No podemos decir por tanto que sea Black Metal, pero desde luego es metal extremo y conserva reminiscencias de su anterior estilo como comprobaremos.

So, here we have INNER FIRE, a band that was formed in Belgium at 2003 and their music is a quite nice mix of black, death metal with a dark/gothic approach. The recording took place at the famous Berno studio in Sweden and Berno Paulsson (Amon Amarth, The Haunted, Defleshed) is responsible for the production (and I think that it is rather unnecessary to say something about the quality…!).
“Of Legends And Allegiance” has the whole package! Slow rhythms, killing blast beats, very nice brutal vocals and guitar riffs that will take your breath away, all are here! Compositions are filled with dark emotions and despite their speed, a doom/gothic feeling is always present. “Bloodred Failure” opens the album and this you must hear it loud. Fury, madness, melancholy and deadly melodies constitute “Of Legends And Allegiance”. INNER FIRE was a surprise for me; check them out and find out what I’m talking about…..!

Acceder al microcosmos sonoro de los italianos Canaan, banda integrada por Mauro Berchi (guitarras, voz, samples, teclados), Nico Faglia (bajo, samples), Luca Risi (teclados, samples), Andrea Freschi (batería) y Matteo Risi (guitarras), constituye una de las experiencias más cautivadoras, penetrantes e intensas que uno tan sólo tiene el placer de probar en contadas ocasiones. Su inclasificable estilo, pleno de melancolía y desesperación, se caracteriza básicamente por el trazado de densas y tétricas atmósferas matizadas por la personal y seductora voz de Mauro Berchi, en las que se dan cita cristalinas guitarras superpuestas que disparan emotividad y contundencia en cada nota, siempre magistralmente ejecutadas, y variadas capas de teclados que configuran una música con alma, ajena a cualquier tipo de convención. Por ello, decir que Canaan es un grupo de gothic ambient, doom melódico o pretender adjudicarle cualquier otro rótulo estándar es quedarse simplemente en la envoltura de sus apasionantes trabajos, que trascienden con creces esos fútiles intentos de encasillar sus épicas composiciones en rígidos moldes. Álbumes como “Brand New Babylon” y, especialmente, esa absoluta obra maestra titulada “A Calling To Weakness” crean universos sonoros de marcada oscuridad, depresivos y asfixiantes, pero reveladores de una belleza a la que pocas veces es posible acceder en semejante manifestación de integridad y pureza.
